Manchester City join the race for £86m Real Madrid attacker also wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool

A flurry of rumoured attacking exits have forced Manchester City to dip their toes back into the transfer market.

Although losing all three players seems unlikely, the departures of at least two of them will force Pep Guardiola’s hand.

There is an obvious option in terms of finding a direct replacement - particularly on the wing - but Man City will have to compete with Arsenal and Liverpool for his signature.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that all three teams are now circling Real Madrid star Rodrygo. The Brazilian barely featured in the team’s Club World Cup campaign, and under new manager Xabi Alonso finds himself on the fringes of the Bernabeu outfit.

Posting on X, Romano said: “Manchester City are considering move for Rodrygo after imminent exits.

“Grealish gone, McAtee and Savinho can leave; Man City see Rodrygo as dream target, Guardiola [is a] big fan.

“Real Madrid will let him leave if player wants - asking around £86m.”
