£100 million Man City star set for Everton medical

Manchester City begin their bid to regain the Premier League title with a trip to Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday.

The Citizens have won the top flight in six of the last eight seasons, but missed out last term after a disastrous campaign that finished without a major trophy.

Pep Guardiola has bolstered his squad this summer with several new signings, including Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Now, though, it appears that one of City’s biggest stars is on his way out of The Etihad.

According to Fabrizio Romano, winger Jack Grealish is set to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of a proposed loan move to Everton.

The journalist claims that the England international is heading to Merseyside to complete his medical, before joining the Toffees on loan for the upcoming season.

Grealish, 29, became the first ever £100 million English player when he joined City from boyhood club Aston Villa in 2021, and impressed during his first couple of seasons in Manchester.

The Englishman was part of the City squad that won the treble in 2023, but he has fallen down the pecking order under Guardiola and last season started just one Premier League match.

In total he has scored 17 goals and provided 23 assists in 157 games for City across all competitions.

Romano claims that the England international is set to join Everton on loan for the upcoming season, with the deal including an option-to-buy clause set at £50 million, although Grealish himself will have the final say on the permanent move.

His contract with the Citizens is set to run until 2027, but it remains unclear whether or not the winger will feature for the Manchester giants again.
