Arsenal Injury News–Arteta Hints At Winger Injury Ahead Of Man United Clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update ahead of the Gunners’ season opener against Man United.

The Gunners have spent a lot of the summer adding to Arteta’s first team squad, and strengthening in attack mainly by adding the likes of Noni Madueke, and star striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Gyokeres opened his account in Arsenal’s last pre-season game against Athletic Bilbao, when he scored after 34 minutes to give the Gunners a 1-0 lead. They went on to win the game 3-0 at the Emirates, and are now preparing for the start of the season.

Man United will bring a tough test, especially considering that they managed to sign former Arsenal striker target Benjamin Sesko, and we’re ready to see a battle between Sesko and Gyokeres to see who can score first. Arteta will have some tough line-up decisions to make with his new and improved squad, but it could be tricky based on a couple of injuries to his players.

Leandro Trossard a doubt for the Man United game

Ahead of the opening game against Man United at Old Trafford, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that there is a chance that winger Leandro Trossard could miss the game.

He told the media after their pre-season victory against Bilbao: “I think he’s going to be [okay] in a few days, yes, a little niggle in the groin. But he should be fine.”

Trossard is currently being assessed ahead of the game on Sunday, and if he is available, would likely start on the bench. Trossard’s injury gives new signing Noni Madueke more of a chance to get minutes in what will be his first competitive game for the Gunners.

Furthermore, Gabriel Jesus is still recovering from his long-term ACL injury that he suffered in January, he will be out until October at the earliest according to the most recent updates.
