Liverpool to release heartbreaking Diogo Jota footage filmed shortly before death

Liverpool will release a never before seen footage of Diogo Jota as part of an in-club video.

The Reds are set to drop a video of interviews with their players as they relive their Premier League triumph, with Jota to be included.

Jota, 28, died alongside his brother Andre Silva, 25, in a car crash last month in the Spanish region of Zamora as the two travelled to northern Spain ahead of Liverpool's return to pre-season training.

The Portugal international has been remembered in every pre-season game the Reds have played this summer, as well as the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday.

Liverpool's social media account confirmed they would be releasing an in-house documentary where their players recall last season's success. Several players featured in the trailer, before Jota was shown.

In the video, he said: "To arrive at this particular season with the title I've been chasing for a lot of years. It is a remarkable achievement. It's a moment I will cherish forever. It was outstanding."

Jota was signed by Jurgen Klopp in 2020 after Liverpool's first Premier League title win. The Portuguese had to wait five years to end Manchester City's dominance and get his hands on the trophy.

The trailer shows key moments from last season as well as a different view of the unprecedented celebrations that occurred in the city at the end of Arne Slot's first season in charge.
