Diogo Jota talks in never-before-seen Liverpool interview as video from before death drops

Never-seen-before footage of Diogo Jota where he says that winning the Premier League title is "a moment he will cherish forever" will feature in a brand-new Liverpool documentary. The footage, which will be shown on Liverpool's All Red Video, was recorded shortly before the winger's death in July, and it launches on Tuesday at 9am BST.

The Portuguese icon tragically passed away last month alongside his younger brother Andre Silva, after their car crashed in the Spanish province of Zamora in the early hours of July 3. Tributes have poured in worldwide in the month since, not only from Liverpool supporters but from football fans worldwide. Jota and his sibling were once again remembered during Sunday's Community Shield clash at Wembley, with fans applauding him for the duration of the 20th minute in line with his famous shirt number.

And now, Liverpool have confirmed that they are releasing an in-house documentary which sees their players reflect on last season's Premier League-winning campaign that Jota played a major part in. In a clip uploaded to Instagram to announce the launch of the video, several players are featured giving their take on an iconic photograph of the squad celebrating their title.

Jota then appears in the clip, saying: "To arrive at this particular season with the title I've been chasing for a lot of years. It is a remarkable achievement. It's a moment I will cherish forever. It was outstanding."

The trailer also shows some of Liverpool's most crucial moments on their way to clinching their first Premier League title under new boss Arne Slot in his maiden season at the club, as well as incredible celebrations at Anfield once the title was secure.

Number one shot-stopper Alisson Becker, for context speaks over a clip where players and staff are seen in jubilation with one another whilst celebrating the league title. He says: "I think this picture shows a lot about how we value every person at this club."

Jota then appears on-screen for the first time, quizzed about some of the season's most important moments. The forward only arrived at Anfield in 2020, the summer after Liverpool's first-ever Premier League title under Klopp.

And he had to wait another five years before Liverpool would lift the title once again, narrowly missing out to Pep Guardiola's dominant Manchester City on three occasions.
