Kevin Durant Gets Honest About Thunder’s Championship

It’s been years since Kevin Durant played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but his name is still closely tied to them.

Like everyone, he witnessed his former team’s incredible run through the league last season, culminating in their first championship.

He was asked about their title win on X and had a typical and sarcastic response.

“Finally. It’s been 10 years, bout time they win one lmaooo,” Durant posted on X.

As you can imagine, a lot of Thunder fans weren’t very happy with this quip from Durant.

He’s not wrong, because it has been ten years since he played for the Thunder.

After leaving the team, he headed to the Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and now the Houston Rockets.

He pushed the Thunder all the way to the Finals during his tenure in Oklahoma, but wasn’t able to get the job done, and that has stung ever since.

While he is surely happy for his former team, he is probably not very happy to be asked about them all the time.

Durant has tried his hardest to move on and find success with other teams, and he certainly has.

But no matter where he goes, people will continue to link him with OKC.

The Thunder are going to enter 2025-26 as the team to beat, and Durant will face off against them with his new squad, the Rockets.

Houston is seen as one of the most exciting teams in the league, especially after acquiring Durant, so can they take down Oklahoma City?

If Durant and his Rockets beat the Thunder during the regular season, it’ll send a strong message, but people will always talk about him and the reigning champions.
