The Milwaukee Bucks have two major goals: win a title and keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy, and it seems that one isn’t possible without the other.
This summer, the Bucks were aggressive about attempting to build a reliable and strong team around Antetokounmpo, but they don’t know if it’ll pan out.
Writing on X, Jake Weinbach said the Bucks “did well” to surround Antetokounmpo with “high-value role players given the circumstances this offseason.”
“Milwaukee no longer has co-stars around Giannis, but they have a strong supporting cast that complements the franchise superstar on both ends of the floor,” Weinbach wrote.

Their biggest move of the offseason was waiving Damian Lillard, who then moved back to the Portland Trail Blazers.
But although Lillard is no longer in the lineup, the Bucks are still paying him, which eats into their budget.
However, they did other things to improve the roster.
They added Myles Turner, which could be huge for the team’s frontcourt.
At the same time, they lost Brook Lopez.
They will also have Kyle Kuzma, Cole Anthony, and Kevin Porter Jr. around Antetokounmpo in the new season.
These are promising players who are capable of chipping in a lot, but can they help the team reach the playoffs and the Finals?
Antetokounmpo wants this Bucks team to battle for another title, and anything short of that will be a disappointment to him.
According to most reports, he isn’t willing to put up with many more disappointments, and if 2025-26 isn’t a resounding success with achieved goals, he could be looking to pack his bags and head to greener pastures.
This has been Milwaukee’s biggest fear for years.
They attempted to enhance the team this summer, but it may not be enough – and what if it’s not?
