Journalist shares 'Big talent' forward Everton want to sign after Grealish

Everton are showing no signs of slowing down in the final weeks of the transfer window after agreeing a deal to sign Jack Grealish.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed that David Moyes has convinced Grealish to sign for the Blues on a season-long loan move from Manchester City.

Tottenham were also interested in the 29-year-old once it became apparent that his career at the Etihad would soon end, but guaranteed minutes ultimately proved a deciding factor ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

David Moyes has prioritised the attacking areas this summer, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival from Chelsea following the big-money acquisition of new centre-forward Thierno Barry.

However, Everton are refusing to rest on their laurels and are now targeting another offensive addition, reigniting interest in a player who has been on the radar at the Blues since 2022.

Everton want to sign Leicester City forward Abdul Fatawu

According to Alan Myers, Leicester City forward Abdul Fatawu is on the list of transfer targets at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 21-year-old barely featured in the Premier League last term after suffering a season-ending cruciate ligament injury in November as the Foxes dropped immediately back down to the Championship.

He did, however, impress throughout his maiden campaign at the King Power Stadium, registering seven goals and 13 assists that helped his side win the title in the English second-tier, prompting Leicester to activate the purchase clause.

As per a report in Portuguese outlet A Bola from 2022, Everton were among the interested parties in Fatawu’s signature, alongside cross-city rivals Liverpool, during his spell with Sporting CP.

Fatawu has returned to fitness this year, starting Leicester’s opening day 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, but the Blues are pursuing a move for Tyler Dibling, among other targets.

After years of fighting relegation battles in the Premier League, it would be a welcome change for Everton to have a side boasting considerable attacking options.

Iliman Ndiaye stole headlines during his debut season in England, and with Grealish adding proven top-flight and European experience to the squad, the foundations are there for the Blues to enjoy a successful campaign.

Fatawu could be the latest exciting addition at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and he would arrive on Merseyside with a glowing recommendation after ex-Leicester boss Steve Cooper raved about the forward to BBC Sport last season.

“He’s obviously a big talent and a young player, as exciting as he can be at his age, with lots to learn.”

In addition, ex-Premier League goalkeeper Shay Given added further fuel to the fire after Fatawu helped inspire a 3-2 win against Southampton.

“This guy is absolutely lightning, he’s a brilliant player to come off the bench. He probably should be starting, he’s a brilliant talent.”
