Although more additions are definitely needed, one Wolves player’s return from injury should be a considerable boost.
While all the focus at present is on bringing new faces in before the window shuts, Vitor Pereira also has a decision to make between two players already in the squad.
With the new season just days away, there is still some uncertainty as to who is preferred by Pereira in certain areas.

The right wing-back position for Wolves is a source of debate, and a decision between David Moller Wolfe and Hugo Bueno on the left also has to be made.
But sticking in the defensive areas, one player returning should be looking to claim back his starting berth.
Liam Keen thinks Yerson Mosquera could win back his starting spot for Wolves after injury
A nasty ACL and MCL injury left Yerson Mosquera sidelined for the majority of last season.
Matt Doherty, someone Pereira is very fond of, stepped into the centre-back role and has done well considering his natural position is on the right.

But E&S Wolves reporter Liam Keen suspects a return to the starting XI could be on the cards for Mosquera, saying: “Matt Doherty did well last season under Pereira and rightly has the shirt going into the new season. Against Celta he made some good tackles and recoveries, but also could have done better for their goal.
“Waiting in the wings is Yerson Mosquera, who will be desperate to get the shirt back.”
While the Colombian has returned to action, he still isn’t completely confident in his knee going into the new campaign.
As such, Doherty’s place should be safe for the opening few fixtures, but on whether he will hold onto the position, Keen had this to say: “Doherty should start the season against City and for the foreseeable games, but it is only a matter of time before Mosquera comes calling and he has a good chance of breaking in.”
Wolves are still looking for a new centre-back despite Yerson Mosquera return
Despite the boost of Mosquera’s return, Pereira still wants to add a centre-back this window.
In the last couple of weeks, there have been a couple of rumours around the position, one being Robert Renan, a player Pereira has worked with in Brazil.
The latest is Chelsea’s Axel Disasi, who has been put on the market as Chelsea look to get their abundant outgoings in order.
But given the system Wolves play, with three central defenders, reports of interest shouldn’t put either Doherty or Mosquera off too much. The reality is a shock injury could happen again, or someone could drop off their form, and having another centre-back to fall back on is not a bad thing by any means.
Who stakes their claim between Mosquera and Doherty is something to monitor in the opening weeks of the campaign.
