Jack Grealish is on the verge of joining Everton this summer.
Grealish has agreed to join the Toffees on an initial season-long loan deal from Manchester City, with an option to buy for £50million next summer included.
The Englishman is looking to resurrect his career after falling out of favour at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola, with the goal of returning to the national set-up ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
The winger initially came to prominence at Aston Villa in both the Championship and the Premier League, and some Everton legends had their say on the 28-year-old back when he was thriving at Villa Park.

Grealish received massive praise while at Aston Villa
While at Villa, Grealish was able to drag his boyhood club back to the Premier League in 2019 before keeping them up a year later.

This led to major interest developing across the Premier League from the big clubs, but he chose to stay one more year to help Villa establish themselves in mid-table.

During that season in lockdown, the winger’s admirers continued to grow, and Everton legends such as Kevin Campbell, Duncan Ferguson and Tim Howard became huge fans of Grealish.
Ferguson said: “He is a very good player, he has that kind of flair, that creativity that every team needs. I love players that can take on defenders, and Grealish certainly has that ability. He’s a real threat.”
Campbell said: “Grealish is one of the best dribblers in the Premier League. You watch him and he makes things happen.”
Howard added: “Grealish is one of those players who can turn a game on its head. It’s no surprise that big clubs are after him.”

Grealish can relight the spark at Everton
The Englishman has had a troubled time in Manchester thanks to injuries and poor play, falling out of favour and seeing his playstyle restricted under Guardiola.
A move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium could reignite Grealish’s maverick play and unlock the true potential with the help of a fluid Toffees attack.
