Hammers’ manager [Graham Potter](https://www.claretandhugh.info/graham-potter-lifts-lid-on-west-ham-plans-for-michail-antonio/) appears to be getting pretty focused on the shape of his squad for the next Premier League season. Clearly some who were not taken to the USA such as Emerson Palmieri are exit bound, once buyers are found. Emerson’s situation is somewhat confusing right now as the club who reportedly want to take him have a transfer embargo in place – so quite how long the Brazilian will have to wait around for Lazio to sort their finances out is just not clear.
From a conversation with our high ranking source inside West Ham today, it is clear also that Graham Potter appears to have made a decision on ‘El Machin’ **Edson Alvarez:** According to our source, Alvarez is also available for sale:
‘_The Manager is not sure he can play in his system, so Alvarez is available for Sale” ._
Which is quite a change for the Mexican -after lifting the CONCACAF trophy with his international side in the summer and getting himself the Golden Ball award as Player of the Tournament. Despite that, West Ham’s manager doesn’t seem to see him fitting in to the style which Graham Potter wants to adopt.
Incredible , really, a EUCL trope winner just two years ago, Alvarez had his disciplinary issues and multiple yellow and red cards last year which has made him something of a ‘marmite’ player which everyone has very strong feelings about.
Presumably that’ll mean either Alvarez gets sold and a replacement brought in – if there is time during this window – or the Mexican adapts to the style Potter wants.
It could also explain the links with Lille’s defensive midfielder **Ngal’ayel Mukau** following the Congolese starlet putting on a good display against the Irons at the weekend: For the record, he scored his penalty and actually had a couple of very promising attacking runs. Watch the game again, he’s Lille’s number 17. At the moment.
