Leeds United are yet to make a permanent sale since the transfer window opened, with the pre-agreed transfer of Rasmus Kristensen the only cash Leeds have raked in all summer.
Kristensen’s loan was turned permanent by Frankfurt during the second half of the 2024-25 season, with the Dane shining on loan in Germany. It is believed Frankfurt have paid a fee of £7.7m for Kristensen.
But since then, Leeds have not made any sales. Fellow promoted sides Sunderland and Burnley have both cashed in, with Sunderland selling Jobe Bellingham and Burnley waving goodbye to James Trafford.
That is despite Leeds waving goodbye to Joe Gelhardt, Max Wober, Mateo Joseph and Charlie Crew on loan in the last few weeks. That is about to change, with Leeds in talks to sell a midfielder permanently.

Leeds set to make first sale since summer window opened
Earlier this summer, reports said that Leeds were requesting a fee between £3m and £4m for trio Darko Gyabi, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt. Gelhardt has gone on loan as he has two years on his deal.
But for Gyabi and Greenwood, who returned to Leeds after Championship loans like Gelhardt, they are now in the final year of their contracts. Leeds Live report that Leeds are in talks to sell one of them.
Indeed, Greenwood could become the first permanent sale made by the club since Kristensen’s loan was turned permanent. Leeds Live say talks are underway with an unnamed Championship club pushing.

Sam Greenwood’s topsy-turvy Leeds spell in numbers
Much like Gelhardt, Greenwood’s best years at Leeds came while in the Premier League. The versatile midfielder, who can play up top, out wide and as an attacking midfielder, impressed under Jesse Marsch.

That is after shining in the U21 side following his £3m move from Arsenal, and then breaking in under Marcelo Bielsa. Relegation looked as though it would actually help Greenwood cement his Leeds place.
Sam Greenwood’s Leeds spell in numbers:
Debut vs Crawley in FA Cup (January 10, 2021 – 3-0 loss)
35 appearances for Leeds
25 appearances in Premier League
One goal v Bournemouth (5 November 2022 – 4-3 win)
Five assists
But that has not been the case. Greenwood played twice under Daniel Farke, coming on in a league game against West Brom in August 2023 and the cup against Alex Cairns and Salford. Now, he is set to leave.
