FC Barcelona have been working hard to tie down exciting talents from La Masia to new contracts in recent weeks to secure their future at the club.
The latest in line to sign a new contract with the Blaugrana is Xavi Espart, with the club announcing his renewal until 2028 earlier on Monday.
The contract extension also came with an official promotion from Juvenil A to Barça Atletic for the versatile midfielder, who will now be a part of the reserve team under Juliano Belletti.

“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with player Xavi Espart for the renewal of his contract, which will link him to the Club for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2028,” the statement from the club read.
“This means that the player will remain linked to the Blaugrana club in his final year as a youth player and the first two years as a senior player, forming part of Barça Atletic,” it added.
A versatile player, Xavi Espart started out as a midfielder where he can play both as a pivot or an interior. However, during the course of the last season, the 18-year-old largely played at right-back for Juvenil A under Belletti, as they went on to win the historic treble.
Espart has been with Barcelona for a decade now, having joined La Masia in 2015. The young jewel will now continue his development with the club for at least three more years, thanks to his latest contract extension.
