The Scottish football season is already underway, with Celtic making it two wins from their opening two Premiership matches.
But the official start to the new English Premier League season kicked off on Sunday when Crystal Palace beat Liverpool in the FA Community Shield.
This was the 2025 FA Cup winners Palace pitting their wits against the champions of England, and coming out on top after an enthralling and exciting penalty shootout win.
And there were a fair few players at Wembley with Celtic connections on show.

Jeremie Frimpong and Odsonne Edouard reunite as Crystal Palace beat Liverpool
Jeremie Frimpong joined Liverpool this summer, and he will now play alongside one of Celtic’s best modern-day players, Virgil van Dijk.
Of course, the duo didn’t play together at Celtic Park, but one man who did was striker Odsonne Edouard, and he reunited with Frimpong at Wembley.
The FA’s official social media account posted a small clip of the Celtic heroes embracing one another before kick-off, with Frimpong scoring on debut, but watching his Liverpool side fall to defeat.
‘Old @CelticFC teammates, Jeremie Frimpong and Odsonne Edouard, are reunited ahead of kick-off,’ wrote the FA Cup’s official social media channel.
