Ruben Amorim has done a very good job of reinforcing the first-team squad so far. He has signed the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
The attack looks well sorted now, with these additions helping in this regard. On the other hand, there are other areas of the pitch that the club could do with some reinforcements.
For example, goalkeeping has been an area of concern for Man Utd. The Red Devils have had Andre Onana as the first-choice for the past couple of seasons but the Cameroonian has struggled to showcase consistency.
That is arguably the most important trait that a club would expect from their first-choice shot-stopper. An unreliable but maverick presence like Onana might not be helpful for Man Utd, at this stage of their evolution.
Now, as per an exclusive on [Stretty News](https://strettynews.com/2025/08/10/man-united-meeting-gianluigi-donnarumma-agent/), Ruben Amorim is pressing to sign PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a meeting scheduled with his agents this week.
The Italian international played a heroic role for Luis Enrique’s side, emerging as one of the many stars in their Champions League winning campaign but he is in the final 12 months of his contract at Parc des Princes.
Donnarumma and PSG have failed to agree terms over a new contract and the club have now gone ahead and signed Lucas Chevalier. This puts the Italian in a tricky position regarding his future.
The ex-AC Milan star is a high-earner at PSG, getting close to £300,000 a week in wages. Man Utd will have to be willing to open the purse strings to bring the Italian to Old Trafford.
Man Utd have lined up a list of alternatives like Diogo Costa, Gregor Kobel and Emiliano Martinez but signing Donnarumma could be a massive coup for the Red Devils.
The Italian has an aura around him and his large frame helps him in tricky one-on-one situations. Let’s wait and see if Man Utd manage to convince PSG to sell him this summer.
