It seems like Manchester City could have a busy few weeks during the ongoing summer transfer window.
As exclusively revealed by Manchester City News, Rodrygo is on Pep Guardiola’s radar.
In terms of outgoings, Savinho could sign for Tottenham if Spurs pay in excess of £50 million to secure his services.
Jack Grealish could join Everton on loan and James McAtee looks set to sign for Nottingham Forest as well.
Dani Olmo claimed Man City target Xavi Simons is a ‘complete player’
Xavi Simons has also been linked with a surprise move to the Etihad Stadium now.
Manchester City have contacted Simons’ agent with a view to sign the Dutch international as a potential replacement for Savinho.

If City do ramp up their efforts to sign the former Paris Saint-Germain attacker, Dani Olmo’s verdict about his former teammate in February 2024 would encourage them, as he told RB Leipzig’s official website: “Xavi is a different player.”

Olmo continued to praise Manchester City target Simons, explaining: “He has shown that so far in the time he has been here. We connect really well on the pitch but he can also do things on his own. He has an amazing dribbling technique, finishing as well. He’s a really complete player and for us, for our system, for how we play, our ideas, the coaches’ ideas, it is perfect for us. Now he’s in a really good mood, in a really good shape so this is very helpful.”
Xavi Simons has decided his next move
Simons, who Marco Rose called a “difference-maker” is a top player and Olmo’s verdict perhaps justifies Manchester City’s interest in his signature.
The Dutchman can play as a number 10, in central midfield and even in a deeper role in the middle of the park.
However, Simons’ priority is to sign for Chelsea.
Whether the youngster’s preference prompts City to up the ante in their pursuit of his acquisition or simply focus on signing Rodrygo remains to be seen.
