The Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved quickly to address their running back depth after concerns emerged in the backfield.
With Rachaad White dealing with an injury that has him listed as day-to-day, the team needed additional options at the position.
The solution came in the form of a familiar face from the NFC South. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the signing on Monday.

McClellan spent his rookie season in Atlanta after being drafted out of Alabama. He appeared in just two games, carrying the ball 13 times for 32 yards.
Limited opportunities behind Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier kept his role minimal during the regular season.
The 23-year-old showed flashes during the preseason. He led Atlanta with 55 rushing yards on 11 carries against Baltimore, demonstrating the dual-threat ability that made him attractive coming out of college.
His pass-catching skills from the backfield add another dimension to his game.
Atlanta released McClellan in June, opting for former UFL standout Jashaun Corbin instead.
The move created an opportunity for Tampa Bay to add depth at a position where injuries can quickly thin the rotation.
McClellan faces an uphill battle making the 53-man roster with the Buccaneers already possessing solid depth.
However, his familiarity with the division could prove valuable if he earns a spot.
The irony of the signing becomes clear when looking at the schedule. Tampa Bay opens the season against Atlanta on September 7th at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
While McClellan likely won’t factor into that game, the Falcons will need to focus on stopping White and Bucky Irving instead.
