Joe Burrow doesn’t possess Lamar Jackson’s rushing ability or the cannon arms of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
Despite that reality, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback continues to pick apart defenses with precision and intelligence that sets him apart from most signal callers in the league.
Not everyone recognizes what Burrow brings to the table. Some former NFL quarterbacks seem hesitant to fully acknowledge his complete skill set.
One ESPN analyst has no such reservations about the Bengals star.
During a recent Get Up segment, Dan Orlovsky made his feelings crystal clear about Burrow’s throwing ability.
“There is no one better in the league, right now, throwing football than Joe Burrow. Just absolutely flawless. And I know, starters, backups, all that, the ball went exactly where it should on a consistent basis,” Orlovsky said.

The Bengals face legitimate concerns heading into Week 1. Their defense remains a question mark, especially with pass rusher Trey Hendrickson still absent from team activities.
Yet Burrow’s talent alone gives Cincinnati a fighting chance each Sunday.
National perception continues to undervalue both Burrow and his team. The Bengals have missed the playoffs two straight seasons, but context matters. Burrow’s 2023 campaign ended early due to a wrist injury.
Last season’s defensive struggles prevented what could have been an MVP-level performance.
Burrow ranked first across multiple categories in 2024. Pocket presence, decision making, mechanics and ball placement all showcased elite quarterback play.
His final numbers tell the story: 4,918 passing yards, 43 touchdowns, 9 interceptions and a 70.6 completion percentage.
Burrow recently noted he feels as close to perfect as he’s ever been. That pursuit continues next Monday against Washington in what could be his most extensive preseason action to date.
