Tottenham have tabled a bid for Savinho, with Manchester City likely to demand more for the winger, as a move is on the cards.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have tabled a bid for Savinho in the region of €50 million. Manchester City are expected to demand significantly more for their winger, but have conceded the idea of letting him leave, with the Brazilian open to joining the north Londoners.
Savinho was one of the big moves that Manchester City made last summer, albeit the deal was pre-planned with sister club Girona. Having enjoyed a productive season with the Spanish side, the Brazilian failed to replicate that under Pep Guardiola, in what was an otherwise dreadful season for everyone concerned at the Etihad.
Savinho did get 16 goals and assists across all competitions, but Guardiola does want to make some key changes to his squad and will be open to letting Savinho depart for the right offer. The Brazilian has seen links to Tottenham accelerate over the last few days, with certain reports also claiming he was offered to Spurs recently.
Tottenham subsequently opened talks with Manchester City, with the move accelerating in the right direction for the north Londoners. Thomas Frank is eager to inject attacking quality into his squad following the departures of Son Heung-min and the big injury to James Maddison.
Manchester City appear open to letting Savinho leave in search of regular first-team football, as Guardiola is already targeting Rodrygo Goes as a potential new winger in the coming period. Tottenham could be inching closer to getting their man in Savinho.
Tottenham have made Savinho bid
Fabrizio Romano stated that Tottenham have tabled a €50 million bid for Savinho, which could be rejected by Manchester City. Guardiola’s side have already communicated with Spurs on their asking price, with TBR claiming the former Premier League champions are seeking around £50 million, including add-ons.
Hence, it appears that Spurs are not far away from Manchester City’s valuation of the 16 G/A Manchester City whizkid, with some more time on the negotiating table could do the trick. Savinho could come into Frank’s side as a versatile wide attacker, who could potentially play on either side.
