Technical Man Utd-linked talent's clear'intention'emerges on what he will do next,'expressed strong interest...'

A Manchester United-linked midfielder who has a mammoth release clause has made his position clear on his transfer future, according to stunning reports in Spain.

Ruben Amorim is keen to add the services of another midfielder to his Manchester United first-team options going into the 2025-26 Premier League season.

The Red Devils have already been linked with several midfield names this summer, including Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, Atalanta’s Ederson and Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez.

United manager Ruben Amorim has limited midfield options for the two-man midfield pivot in his tactical system and the Red Devils want a new defensive midfielder.

The 40-year-old Portuguese coach is already expected to shake up his tactics and play United captain Bruno Fernandes in the heart of midfield for the 2025-26 season.

Hansi Flick likes the Barcelona youth academy product, but La Masia alumnus Fermin Lopez faces increasing competition in the starting XI going into the new season.

Lopez has impressed since his emergence in the Barcelona first team and the Spain international has been tipped as a potential midfield option for United to consider.

Sport has now reported that Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona teammate has shown clear ‘intention’ to remain at the Camp Nou under manager Hansi Flick.

The Spanish newspaper added that Lopez does not expect to U-turn on his stance and the Spain midfielder is ‘convinced’ that he will ‘ultimately succeed at Barcelona.’

The factor that could change the Barcelona future of Man Utd-linked Fermin Lopez amid Premier League interest

Fermin Lopez is under contract with Barcelona until 2029 and the La Masia product has a mammoth release clause of £426m (€500m) in his current contract at the club.

According to Sport, the only way that Lopez would reconsider his Camp Nou future is if Barcelona tell him to look for a new club due to ‘financial or strategic reasons.’

The publication added that the Barcelona ace would take a closer look at ‘several clubs’ who have ‘expressed strong interest’ if the La Liga side want him to leave.

Manchester City have been interested in United-linked Lopez and other Premier League ‘heavyweights’ have been keeping a close eye on his situation at Barcelona.

Sport suggested that Aston Villa made a ‘strong bid to sign’ Lopez this summer, while the newspaper added that United and Chelsea have also wanted to land him.
