Rasmus Hojlund is reportedly open to joining AC Milan following the push from Manchester United to depart in light of the Benjamin Sesko arrival.
According to Manchester Evening News, Rasmus Hojlund’s future is far away from Manchester United, as he’s now reportedly open to joining AC Milan. The story emphasises the fact that the Red Devils are pushing to get the forward out of the club, as he could soon join the Rosoneri on an initial loan deal.
Rasmus Hojlund’s future is the big subject at Old Trafford alongside the club’s pursuit of midfielder Carlos Baleba. The striker’s time at Old Trafford is coming to an end following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko. The Danish star has had two ineffective seasons at the club since his big move from Atalanta, with a return to Serie A now seems like a high probability.
Manchester United found an agreement for Sesko recently, and ever since, talk of Hojlund leaving have intensified. The report states that only 12 days ago did the forward said he wants to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place, although Ruben Amorim’s plans may not involve the Manchester United prospect.
Amorim wants to trim his squad ahead of the new campaign as Manchester United do not have any form of European football, which may not require a deep squad. With Sesko’s arrival, likely to make Joshua Zirkzee the backup, Hojlund does not have a place, with Manchester United open to accepting a loan move for the striker.
AC Milan reportedly have a verbal agreement in place with Manchester United, and only the player’s decision is awaited. Despite his earlier stance, it appears that Hojlund might be ready to accept his fate and move on in his career, as the Rossoneri are not the only teams keen, but currently they are the favourites.
Rasmus Hojlund is ready for AC Milan move
While the Manchester United prospect may want to stay put and prove his worth despite the big doubts over his talent at Old Trafford, he may still prioritise playing regularly. Sesko is likely to be the clear-cut starter under Amorim ahead of the new season, and hence, Hojlund is now open to joining AC Milan.
Moreover, there’s the idea of keeping sharp ahead of next year’s World Cup, which will need him to play regularly. Hence, the move to AC Milan might be accelerating soon, with the Serie A side set to take him in an expensive loan move with a hefty buy option likely to be inserted in any deal.
