The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to get back to the Super Bowl and bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the City of Brotherly Love for the second year in a row after dismantling the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
Unfortunately, one of the Eagles’ most important players from last season’s run has to undergo knee surgery ahead of the start of the regular season, according to one prominent league insider.
“Sources:#Eagles Pro Bowl G Landon Dickerson avoided a major injury and the plan is for him to undergo meniscus surgery that will put him in play to return early in the 2025 season, potentially even for Week 1 on September 4 vs. the#Cowboys,” reported Jordan Schultz initially on Monday, before following up with the Eagles’ plan.
“It’s not a sure thing that Landon Dickerson will be ready for Week 1 vs the#Cowboys, but that’s the hope. Given his history of multiple knee procedures, the#Eagles won’t rush to get him back on the field. They’ll play this smart.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“He’ll be going against Mazi Smith week 1. We ain’t worried. Give him week 1 off and put a back up in there,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Given his toughness if he can go and play at a high level he will go. Tough mf right there,” someone else added.
“Playing it smart would be to sit him for the entire year,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see when Dickerson is ready to return to the field.
