Myles Garrett gets ticket for going 40 over speed limit hours after preseason game

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Browns’ defensive end Myles Garrett got a ticket early Saturday morning for driving at 40 mph over the speed limit.

According to Strongsville Municipal Court records, Strongsville Police caught Garrett going 100 mph in a 60 mph zone.

Police pulled Garrett over on I-71 near State Route 82 just after 2 a.m., just hours after the 7 p.m. preseason game against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Garrett is set to be in court on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Garrett is supposed to be in Philadelphia on Thursday for joint practices against with the Eagles.

Garrett has a [history of speeding tickets](https://www.cleveland19.com/2022/09/29/myles-garrett-has-been-sacked-many-many-times-speeding-northeast-ohio/) in Northeast Ohio over the years, with the most recent in 2022.

[Earlier this year](https://www.cleveland19.com/2025/03/09/myles-garrett-signs-4-year-contract-extension-with-browns/), Garrett signed a four-year contract extension with the Browns including $123.5 million of guaranteed money.
