The Cleveland Browns are one of the most talked about teams in the NFL so far this year. Their 2025 draft combined with their numerous off the field incidents have made them a top priority for most news outlets.
However, their best player Myles Garrett is now making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Myles Garrett of the Browns was cited for driving at 100 mph in a 60 mph zone on Saturday morning:
Via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, it was Garrett’s eighth citation for speeding since arriving in Cleveland as the first pick in the 2017 draft.
Three years ago, Garrett flipped a Porsche 911 three times while speeding and swerving to avoid an animal.
Said Garrett after the 2022 accident: “This will be definitely a wake-up call for me, just try to be smart overall with driving. Don’t take anything for granted. Be grateful that I’m still able to be here and just take my time.”
Earlier this year, Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited twice in quick succession for speeding. It prompted G.M. Andrew Berry to explain that the team wants to avoid such incidents “because we don’t want some type of catastrophic accident.”

Cleveland’s general manager recently addressed the team’s speeding issues this off-season:
“I think the thing is it’s not just about yourself,” Berry said. “It’s not just about having a joy ride, it’s not just about driving a car really fast, but it’s about the fact that you can endanger other people. It’s about the fact that if a deer or someone cuts out in front of you, like your reaction time. It’s just dangerous and it’s not something that we want our guys to be doing. It’s not something that they should be doing.”
The last time came on Sept. 26, 2022, when he was cited for failure to control at an unsafe speed after he and a female passenger were involved in a one-car crash on State Road near Ridgewood Road in Sharon Township. Garrett was traveling 65 mph in a 45 mph zone in his Porsche 911 Turbo S when he went off the side of the roadway, struck a ditch and a fire hydrant and overturned several times.
The accident resulted in a sprained AC joint in Garrett’s left shoulder, a strained right bicep and multiple lacerations and a burst blood vessel in his left eye. His passenger sustained minor head injuries.
