LATROBE, Pa. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers should not be without cornerback Jalen Ramsey for much longer, and fellow star Darius Slay’s injury scare at practice on Monday was not severe.
Ramsey has now missed four straight practices and was working off to the side with a trainer. Tomlin said he was day-to-day with a minor issue, and is scheduled to practice tomorrow. He is likely to be back in full for Thursday’s joint practice against the Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, Slay appeared to roll his ankle in the corner of the end zone during a seven shots drill. He was attended to by trainers, before eventually being able to walk around.
Tomlin said that Slay should be fine and will be back on the field as soon as possible, with potentially tomorrow being the first day he could be back.
Slay was named a Pro Bowler three times during his seven seasons with the Lions and three times during his five seasons with the Eagles. He was also named first-team All-Pro in 2017. He helped the Eagles win last year’s Super Bowl.
Darius Slay appeared in 14 games for the Eagles last season, recording 49 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He also finished with 13 passes defended.
