Man Utd are expected to send the youngster out on loan in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United defender Harry Amass is considering an offer to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan in the final three weeks of the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old is understood to have received several loan proposals in the window after he was left out of the club's recent tour of the US. Championship side Wednesday have expressed an interest in the teenage full-back after they were cleared to sign loan players and free agents amid their transfer embargo.

Wednesday isn’t the only option available to Amass this summer, though and careful consideration will be taken before he is allowed to leave the club this summer. United are mindful of sending their youngsters to clubs where they will play regularly in a suitable system and the Owls could offer that despite their well-documented off-field troubles.

Amass made his debut for the first team last season and went on to make seven appearances across all competitions for the club. The former Watford defender caught the eye with his work rate and attacking threat down the left wing but often struggled with the physicality of the Premier League. United hope a potential loan exit will aid his physical development and also provide him with the priceless experience of playing in a professional environment every week.

The teenager is highly rated by United coaches but faces a tough fight for a starting role at Old Trafford after they signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce earlier in the year and added Diego Leon from Cerro Porteño. Those two left-wing-backs were involved in the recent US summer tour, while Amass stayed behind and featured for the U21s during their pre-season schedule.

United have already allowed ten players to leave the club on loan in the summer transfer window and could sanction several more exits in the final few weeks. Wednesday are also interested in midfielder Toby Collyer, while United forward Ethan Williams was also identified for an exit before the recent US tour. Sam Mather has attracted interest in both a loan and a permanent exit this summer.
