The wait is almost over for Leeds United as a return to Premier League action is now just days away for Daniel Farke's squad.
The Whites are set to kick-off their charge on Monday, August 18 (8pm) as they take on Everton at Elland Road. That game is likely to see several competitive debuts made for both sides.
So far this summer, Leeds have added seven new players to their squad. There has however been links to a lot more as the club prepare for life back in the Premier League.
Amid all that talk over potential comings and goings, here's a look at a couple of the stories dong the rounds at Elland Road - with our own thoughts also added to each one;
Bilal El Khannouss update
Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes has revealed that the club have received no new bids for Leeds United target Bilal El Khannouss, or any other of their players, over the last few days.
The Whites have held talks over a possible swoop for the Morocco international, this summer, but now face reported competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United. El Khannouss provided two assists in the Foxes’ 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
The Telegraph reckon El Khannouss has a £30million release clause in his Leicester contract. However, it's said to include a deadline on which it can be actions, later this week.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side's Carabao Cup clash vs Huddersfield, Cifuentes said on possible outgoings: "No, I don't know what’s going to happen, I can't predict the future, but it's work in progress.
"It's the same for all clubs in the country. I would prefer that the market is closed once the season is starting, but that's the reality. The market is open, so we just focus on the things we can control."
When asked if the club has received any fresh bids for their players, he said: "Nothing new at the moment."
LeedsLive says: Newcastle's interest could be a huge blow for Leeds, with the Magpies able to offer Champions League football this season. It feels like if they wish to get the transfer done and beat their rivals, then Leeds will have to move quickly.
James McAtee transfer blow
Earlier in the window, Leeds were heavily linked with an interest in Manchester City attacking midfielder James McAtee. It now however seems that they have missed out on that deal.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Nottingham Forest are closing in on a move for the playmaker with an agreement over a fee in excess of £20million in the final stages. It's added that the player himself has agreed personal terms with the club and chose to join Forest despite several requests from other sides.
LeedsLive says: At around £20million, McAtee would have been a brilliant signing for Leeds - but it now seems that they will have to move on to other targets. The only hope to revive a transfer is if Forest and Man City can't negotiate the final details - in turn allowing the Whites to swoop in and hijack the deal.
