Chelsea 'can't wait' to sign 'outstanding' player as Fabrizio Romano predicts Stamford Bridge move

Chelsea have a very strong squad going into the new Premier League season, however Fabrizio Romano is predicting another player is set to come through the door before the transfer window opens.

Enzo Maresca has already welcomed a number of new signings into his side, with many of them already looking accustomed to their new surroundings at Stamford Bridge.

Joao Pedro and Liam Delap are competing to start up front for Chelsea’s first game of the new campaign against Crystal Palace, with both finding their shooting boots ahead of their domestic debuts.

Elsewhere in attack, Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian look sharp and ready to contribute when called upon, however they could be about to see more competition come in for their place in the side.

Alejandro Garnacho has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, with his time at Manchester United looking over following a decision made by Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea fans are not convinced by Garnacho, however it looks as the decision makers at the club have made the call that he will be heavily targeted before September.

Romano told DAZN that he believes the Argentine will move to Stamford Bridge, and says that Chelsea are excited to add him to their first team squad.

He said: “My feeling is, and I will go very strong on this, I think Garnacho will play for Chelsea. Garnacho has been clear with Manchester United. It is Chelsea or nothing. Has agreed personal terms. He believes that Chelsea is the perfect project for him, and Chelsea can’t wait to welcome Alejandro Garnacho.

“Now, it is on the two clubs to reach an agreement. Obviously, when there is this kind of situation with the player out of the squad, the opportunity for Chelsea is to wait longer to get a better price. I believe Alejandro Garnacho will be a Chelsea player.”

Whether Chelsea actually need Garnacho

With Estevao and Gittens, as well as Tyrique George and Pedro Neto already in the first team squad, there are some asking as to whether Chelsea need to add another winger to their ranks.

These questions are further asked when it comes to Garnacho, who has had a controversial last 12 months at Old Trafford.

However, there is no doubting the young winger’s talent when he is up for it. Wes Brown previously described him as ‘outstanding’ (United in Focus).

With George linked with a move away, and Chelsea wanting two players in every position, the logic behind the deal is beginning to shine through.
