Titans release Boyle, add Siemian to QB room

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Titans made some roster moves on their off day.

The team released quarterback Tim Boyle. Boyle completed four passes for 24 yards and threw two interceptions in the Titans’ preseason opener in Tampa Bay. One of those picks was returned for a touchdown by the Bucs.

The Titans replaced Boyle with journeyman Trevor Siemian. Siemian returns to the Titans after serving on the practice squad for the majority of the 2024 campaign, during which time he was in uniform for three contests but did not play. He also spent the bulk of the 2020 season on the Titans practice squad. Siemian entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection by the Denver Broncos in 2015. Over his NFL career, he has appeared in 40 games (33 starts) during his time with the Broncos (2015-17), Minnesota Vikings (2018), New York Jets (2019, 2023), New Orleans Saints (2020-21), Chicago Bears (2022), Cincinnati Bengals (2023) and Titans.

Starting center, Lloyd Cushenberry was also cleared to return to practice.

Cushenberry tore his Achilles last November and has been rehabbing ever since. He is now off the Physically Unable to Perform list and will be folded into the mix at practice.

The Titans have two joint practices with the Falcons this week in Atlanta. The two teams play a preseason game on Friday.
