Manchester United and Manchester City are both admirers of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain after being left out of the club’s squad for the UEFA Super Cup final with Fabrizio Romano reporting the “relationship is completely broken” between the player and club.

City have signed James Trafford this summer after beating Newcastle United to a deal for the player. However, Ederson could leave before the September 1 deadline as the experienced goalkeeper has been linked with an exit. Donnarumma has just one year left on his deal at PSG but his position at the club is set to be usurped by new signing Lucas Chevalier.

The 23-year-old has joined PSG from Ligue 1 rivals Lille and is poised to become the club’s new number one, despite Donnarumma playing a key role in PSG’s Champions League triumph.

Fabrizio Romano’s bombshell Gianluigi Donnarumma update

Giving an update on Donnarumm’s future, Romano issued the bombshell claim that ‘it’s over’ between the goalkeeper and PSG. He also said the player is going to leave the French capital, either in the final weeks of this window or as a free agent in 12 months.

"He is not even travelling with the group after there was no agreement between Donnarumma and Paris Saint-Germain to extend his contract. He has one year left on his contract, so Donnarumma is going to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

"The relationship is completely broken. Donnarumma is disappointed with Paris Saint-Germain because the club already signed another goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier - who is going to be the new number one for Luis Enrique.

"So Donnarumma is leaving. It could be next summer as a free agent but also in this final 20 days of the market - in case of a good proposal. There is interest, especially from the Premier League. So keep an eye on Donnarumma because there could be movements very soon."

Who else is interested in Gianluigi Donnarumma?

He has played 161 times for PSG, conceding 156 goals and keeping 51 clean sheets. He played 251 times for AC Milan with 88 clean sheets before making the move to Ligue 1. Despite racking up over 400 professional appearances, he is still only aged 26.

The Italian international made his debut for AC Milan aged 16 and had established himself as the number one at the club midway through the 2015-16. It means he can offer bags of experience to any club who decides to make a firm move.
