The New York Knicks are set to hire TJ Saint, head coach of the G League's Birmingham Squadron, as an assistant under Mike Brown.
The New York Knicks plan to hire TJ Saint as an assistant coach under Mike Brown's staff, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Saint, 37, has been the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans' G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron.
He joined the organization in 2019-20, when the team was still the Erie BayHawks, and was promoted to associate head coach in 2020 before taking over as head coach in 2022.
Under his leadership, the Squadron posted the best offense in the G League during the 2023-24 season.
Before his time in the G League, Saint spent four seasons (2014-18) with the Detroit Pistons as a video coordinator.
He also worked in college basketball as director of basketball strategy at Georgia, and as an assistant at Butler and Belmont.
During his five years at the collegiate level, he helped Butler and Belmont reach the NCAA Tournament in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
