Mikel Arteta’s summer drive shows no sign of slowing. The Arsenal boss has now turned his attention to one of the PL’s brightest attacking midfielders, Eberechi Eze. He recently lifted the Community Shield after beating Liverpool on the weekend. He has emerged as the **Gunners**’ prime target this window.
As per Football Transfers, Arsenal and Crystal Palace have reached an agreement on the deal. It could be worth around €63.5m (£55m) in total. The plan is to pay €34.5m (£30m) upfront, with the rest arriving through structured instalments still under discussion.
For the North London side, the Englishman’s 14 goals and 11 assists last season make him a great addition. The squad is ready to finally do better in the league after three second-place finishes in a row.

Palace hold key to final move
Now, money is no longer the sticking point for all the parties. Crystal Palace are playing hardball to sign off on the deal until they find a good replacement.
Behind the scenes, there is confidence that the Eagles will likely sort out their leadership and replacements quickly. Until then, the deal will be kept on hold.
For the Gunners’ fans , the thought of Eze linking up with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and the new summer signings is mouthwatering. Arteta has been clear in his ambition, he only wants a squad that can dominate both domestically and in Europe.
That said, bringing in the midfielder would be more than just another signing. It would be a statement that the club means serious in the title race. It will be interesting to see how Crystal Palace work on finding another top playmaker after Eze’s possible exit.
