Report: 'Unstoppable' Liverpool ace has meeting with Arne Slot as Anfield future becomes clear

Federico Chiesa has been quite a curious case ever since he joined Liverpool.

Many expected the Italy international to be one of the additions of the window, with the Anfield outfit only spending around £12.5million to acquire his services.

In the end, however, he spent most of the 2024-25 Premier League season on the sidelines and made little impact on the squad.

With this in mind, many expected Chiesa to be moved on from Liverpool this summer, but now, it seems like his fate has been sealed.

Federico Chiesa holds meeting with Arne Slot over Liverpool future

Despite not having the best of campaigns last time around, Chiesa has integrated himself into the Liverpool fanbase seamlessly.

The attacker has a rather catchy song that the fans sing about him, and although he didn’t show it last term, it’s clear that there is still an impressive player within him.

And, as per a fresh report from La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Chiesa has now had a ‘direct meeting’ with Arne Slot about staying at the club.

The Reds have sold Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz this summer, and with the sad passing of Diogo Jota also taken into account, the Reds are fairly light up front.

The report also outlines that Chiesa’s agent has also ‘met’ with Liverpool’s management about what the future holds for the Italian.

The report adds that a final verdict has been reached with the attacker now ‘needed’ by Liverpool after their recent departures.

Liverpool keeping Federico Chiesa makes sense

Although Liverpool would get a decent chunk of change for Chiesa’s transfer, he’s likely much more useful to the Reds if he stays on and plays for them.

Indeed, Mohamed Salah will still be Slot’s first-choice right winger, but with Hugo Ekitike now the club’s only natural striker, there’s potential that he could be used as a number nine this season.

Ben Doak is still at the club, of course, but of the two, it feels more likely that Liverpool will sell the Scotsman than Chiesa.

Only time will tell what the future has in store for Liverpool and Chiesa, but for now, it feels like the Italian will be staying at the club.

And, after Giorgio Chiellini dubbed the attacker “unstoppable“, it’s clear that he still has plenty to offer the Anfield outfit this term.
