How much LeBron James spends on his body revealed

Free agent Gary Payton II estimates that LeBron James spends nearly two million dollars every year to maintain his body and stay in peak condition.

The 40-year-old LeBron James continues to defy the odds as he heads into his 23rd NBA season. Recently, he's been posting workouts at 5 a.m. or earlier, showing his dedication to being fully prepared for the upcoming year with the Los Angeles Lakers.

LeBron's incredible longevity has even sparked some wild theories.

Former NBA guard Jeff Teague once joked that LeBron might have used steroids during his Miami Heat days. Meanwhile, free agent Gary Payton II believes LeBron spends a hefty amount of money to keep his body in top shape.

"He spends almost two million every year on his body," Payton claimed on The Jaxxon Podcast.

However, back in March on The Pat McAfee Show, James laughed off the rumors about spending $1 million a year on his body.

"Man, I don't know where the hell that s**t came from," LeBron said at that time. "I do take care of my body, but I have no idea where the amount of money came from. But I do invest in my body for sure."

LeBron's routine includes lots of soft tissue work, like massages, hyperbaric chambers, and ice baths, to keep himself in peak condition.

Earlier this summer, the superstar picked up his $52.6 million player option to stay with the Lakers.

Last season, James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists over 70 games and earned a spot on the All-NBA Second Team.
