James Carragher has been flooded with messages of support as he issued a health update after a "crazy 28 hours". Jamie Carragher's son, who plays for Wigan Athletic, suffered an injury in the Latics match against Leyton Orient over the weekend.
The centre half was forced off with a knee injury as the League One side were defeated 2 - 0 at Brisbane Road on Saturday afternoon (August 9). Carragher took to Instagram last night to share an update as he vowed to return from his injury as soon as possible.
The 22-year-old posted an image from his hospital bed, alongside the caption: "Crazy 48 hours. Pleased to have had the best surgeon sort me out and be back in no time, thanks for all the messages."
Many followers took to the comments to share messages of support after the update. Bradford City midfielder, Max Power, who previously played for Wigan Athletic and Tranmere Rovers, said: "Speedy recovery mate."
Former Liverpool defender, Calvin Ramsay, posted: "Get well soon mate." Former Liverpool FC Women's player, Missy Bo Kearns, added: "Speedy Recovery James."

It has been a big year for James as he made his international debut for Malta. He has qualified for Maltese citizenship through his nan, Paula Carragher, and great grandad, Paul Vassallo
He made his debut in March in a 1 - 0 defeat t o Finland. His parents, Sky Sports pundit Carragher and his wife, Nicola, travelled to Malta to watch the game.
The Liverpool FC legend shared a proud tribute to his son ahead of his second international game against Poland in the UEFA Nations League.

It was Philly's birthday and Carragher shared snap of three generations of the Carragher family, alongside the caption: "There’s no other place on earth he would rather be today than in Poland, watching his Grandson play football."
