August 12 – Despite losing the FA Community Shield to Crystal Palace at the weekend, Liverpool FC have been big winners off the pitch since the launch of their brand-new home and away adidas jerseys.
The Reds, who recently signed a huge deal 10-year deal with the German sportswear giant, have achieved their highest first-week sales in the club’s long and storied history.
The club stated that home kit sales exceeded last year’s launch by more than 700% with orders coming from 150 countries. A whopping 80% of those orders came via e-commerce, but Liverpool’s flagship Anfield store also recorded its busiest week ever following a refurbishment.
The launch campaign was a who’s who of Liverpool stars including current first-team heroes like Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Curtis Jones alongside club legends Sir Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, John Barnes, Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher.
As a result their social media went through the roof with 40+ million video views across platforms, 17 million engagements, and 423 million impressions
For the previous two seasons, Salah was the best-selling name and number on the back of Liverpool shirts.
But Florian Wirtz, the summer’s blockbuster signing, topped the shirt sales charts in the first seven days after the 2025/26 kit launch.
Football shirt sales are fascinating barometers of fan sentiment. They tell you who’s captured imaginations, who’s the flavor of the month, and sometimes who supporters think might actually deliver the goods. Wirtz clearly fits all three categories right now.
