Celtic are reportedly eyeing a surprise swoop for West Ham's Andy Irving, with the Irons said to be open to negotiations for a fee around £3.5million.
Despite an already crowded midfield featuring Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Benji Nygren, Arne Engels, Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo, Hammers News reports that the Scottish champions have tabled a bid for Scotland international Irving.
The 25-year-old former Hearts player, who made 11 appearances under Graham Potter last season and had a loan spell at Austria Klagenfurt the previous year, could potentially join the Hoops' ranks.
However, it's understood that Celtic's main transfer targets include two wingers, a lead striker and a backup for Kieran Tierney in the left-back position.
In other news, Italian media outlets are reporting that former Celtic star Matt O'Riley has agreed to a five-year deal with Juventus. The Denmark international, who moved from Parkhead to Brighton in a £25million deal last summer, has reportedly settled personal terms with Juve, reports [the Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/celtic-transfer-price-west-ham-35714584).
Despite a debut season marred by injuries, during which he scored twice in 23 games for the Premier League club, the 24 year old ex-MK Dons player is set to earn around £50k per week, totalling £2.6million annually.
However, it's suggested that the Bianconeri will need to offload several players, including Douglas Luiz, Weston McKennie and Fabio Miretti, to finance the deal.
