Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson is eyeing a potential move to Fulham this summer. But, the move has now taken an unexpected turn.
Fulham chase Reiss Nelson
**Arsenal**’s summer business might take an unexpected turn. Now, Shakhtar Donetsk are closing in on a deal for Brazilian starlet Lucas Ferreira from Sao Paulo.
The Ukrainian side’s move could open the door for Fulham to land their top winger target Kevin. The Cottagers have already seen a £34.6m bid turned down for the player. Marco Silva’s men have yet to make a major splash in this window. But, Ryan Sessegnon’s injury may push them toward more than one wide signing. That twist leaves Reiss Nelson’s situation hanging in the balance.
Nelson was once viewed as a long-term Hale End success story. Now, he is firmly on Arsenal’s exit list. The Gunners would prefer a permanent transfer over another loan. Although, Fulham’s reluctance is tied to the winger’s injury history.

While talks continue, interest from elsewhere in the PL adds fuel to the story. Nelson has looked sharp in brief pre-season cameos. But, he was benched from recent friendlies against Athletic Club and Villarreal. So, that speaks volumes about his place in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Arsenal eyeing funds for fresh firepower
The Gunners’ exit plans is stretched beyond Nelson. Leandro Trossard could be on the move for around £20m. Additionally, Bundesliga side Stuttgart are also in talks for Fabio Vieira as well.
Meanwhile, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior are also making their mind regarding their futures. This signals a broader squad refresh. For sporting director Andrea Berta, these sales are more than just about clearing space. The club wants to raise funds for a more versatile attacking option.
Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze remains an ambitious target. Although, the breakthrough seasons of Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri make a big-money move less urgent. Still, selling Nelson could give the boost needed to revisit that pursuit.
Whether Fulham make their move or another PL club steps in remains to be seen. The next few weeks will decide if Nelson’s Arsenal chapter closes for good. For now, the winger’s future remains in the air.
