Report: Pep Guardiola has just made a final decision on Savinho's Man City future after…

Manchester City have made a final decision on the future of Savinho.

Tottenham made their interest in Savinho clear over recent days, which may have shocked City, as there had been no talks regarding an exit for the Brazilian all summer, because the winger is viewed as a key part of Pep Guardiola’s plans ahead of the new season.

A £43m fee had been discussed between Tottenham and Man City for Savinho; however, the Manchester club want well over £50m to part ways with the 21-year-old.

The North London club are keen to land the Brazilian before the summer transfer window closes, and it is being reported that Man City have made a final decision on the transfer.

Tottenham told Savinho is not for sale

Savinho is believed to be keen on joining Tottenham this summer, as the winger believes he will be a regular in Thomas Frank’s team, which may not be the case at Man City.

This is important for the 21-year-old heading into the 25/26 campaign because it will give him the best chance of making the Brazil squad for the FIFA World Cup next summer.

However, Man City have now told Tottenham that Savinho is not for sale, and according to The Athletic, the matter is considered closed at the Etihad Stadium.

This does not come as a surprise, as Savinho seems set to start the season as Guardiola’s first choice on the right wing, having started three out of the four games at the FIFA Club World Cup, and the 21-year-old was also part of the team that looked the strongest against Palermo.

This may change if the Brazilian pushes for a move, but Guardiola has likely reassured the winger that he will be starting on the right ahead of Man City’s Premier League opener with Wolves on Saturday.

Savinho decision could end Rodrygo interest

In the aftermath of the Savinho news this week, it was reported that Man City have a strong interest in Rodrygo, who is out of favour at Real Madrid and would be open to a move.

Talks have already been held between Man City and Rodrygo to understand the conditions of the deal, but this transfer is unlikely to happen if Savinho stays, with Fabrizio Romano stating that City will only move for the 24-year-old if the Tottenham target leaves.

This will be seen as a blow by Man City fans as Rodrygo is a big name and his arrival would spark excitement around the Manchester club during the early part of the season.

However, Savinho is a very bright talent, and being just 21 years old, the winger is far from the finished article.

This season could be a very promising one for the Brazilian, and if he steps up, everyone will forget about this transfer saga.
