The Alexander Isak saga has gone from bad to worse this morning, and it’s painting the Swede in a particularly poor light after weeks of throwing his toys out of the pram.
In a Tuesday morning update from The Athletic’s [David Ornstein](https://x.com/David_Ornstein/status/1955159244073832600), it’s emerged that the standoff between Alexander Isak and Newcastle has taken another turn.
As Ornstein reports, Alexander Isak is now:
* ‘Adamant’ he will not play for the club again
* He considers his Newcastle career to be over, even if the window closes without securing a move
* He has no wish to reintegrate with the squad and return to training
There’s a way of going about things and this stinks, raising huge questions about his attitude and the total lack of respect he’s showing.
We get it, he wants out, but there is a way of conducting yourself. And the same applies to Liverpool, who need to up that £110m bid significantly if they want their man.
But Isak is now showing zero respect for the club that gambled on him with a record fee, the manager that helped take his game to the very top, his teammates and fans that worshipped him.
I’m not sure there’s a way back from this now, but that’s exactly what he wants, clearly.
His legacy is in the bin and he’s handled this so, so poorly.
