Alexander Isak ‘Adamant’ He Will Never Play for Newcastle Again: Report

Alexander Isak is “adamant” he will never play for Newcastle United again as he continues to push for a transfer to Liverpool, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein in a bombshell report published on Tuesday morning.

The 25-year-old Sweden striker has not featured in pre-season and is set to miss Newcastle’s Premier League opener at Aston Villa on Saturday, as confirmed by Eddie Howe last weekend.

Liverpool’s interest remains strong despite their £110 million bid earlier this month being rejected, and Isak is focused on securing a move to Anfield.

Sources told The Athletic that Isak regards his career at St James’ Park as over, even if Newcastle refuse to sell the forward and he remains at NUFC past the transfer deadline.

According to Ornstein’s report, Isak is unwilling to reintegrate into Eddie Howe’s squad and isn’t planning on putting on the black-and-white jersey ever again.

Isak’s stance reportedly stems from last summer, when he was informed that a new contract would not be offered due to Newcastle’s financial restrictions, despite having a lucrative deal until 2028.

The player is believed to have made clear that last season would be his final at Newcastle, although some at the club dispute this claim in what has become a clear, two-sided open war at this point.

While Newcastle’s official stance is that he is not for sale, the position could change if an offer closer to £150 million arrives and a suitable replacement is lined up.
