The general feeling after the weekend games against Augsburg and Rayo Vallecano was that the side Le Bris named in Germany is what the head coach deems his strongest XI and will be the starting line-up against West Ham.
However, at the start of this week, Le Bris told his players that his mind is not yet made up and challenged his squad to take advantage of any uncertainty in his thinking in training this week ahead of the Premier League opener.
Le Bris has decisions to make on Marc Guiu and Arthur Masuaku, who joined last week but haven't played any part in pre-season. They are being closely assessed this week, as will be the case with Omar Alderete, who is set to complete his move from Getafe.

Given the season kicks off in just four days, it feels unlikely that Alderete will go straight into the starting XI, with Jenson Seelt favourite to partner Dan Ballard at centre-half.
Midfield is another interesting area. Enzo Le Fee wasn't part of the squad that travelled to Germany on Saturday and instead played at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, partnering Dan Neil in midfield.
Le Bris insists both players remain very much in his thinking, and says "finishers" in games are just as important as starters. That said, both Le Fee and Neil will be desperate to play their way into Le Bris' first XI this season.
Asked how close he is to knowing his starting XI for West Ham, Le Bris said: "We'll see this week. I hope I have many questions at the end because it's better to have more competition.
"This is still the case. In two or three positions I can choose one or two."
Eliezer Mayenda is favourite to start up-front on Saturday, and if that is the case he'll have the backing of his fellow striker Wilson Isidor.
"Eliezer played the minutes in pre-season so I'm really happy for him, he's a really good striker with potential and quality," said Isidor.
"If I can help to grow, grow, grow then that's good for him but I'm here to help him on the pitch also.
"If we think back to the final, I think he was more free when he was playing with me so we have a good connection.
"We're good friends and we'll keep it like that. I'm happy for him with everything that is happening for him, it's good."
One of Sunderland's major strengths last season was their dressing room unity and spirit, and Isidor believes that will remain the case, even though the make-up of the squad has changed dramatically over the summer.
He said: "I try to integrate everyone as best as I can. We have a really good group, and some experience now with Arthur \[Masuaku\] and Granit Xhaka of course. Reinildo also.
"We're really happy about this, and we'll support the young lads if they need anything on or off the pitch.
"If you have a good group, you can do amazing things. I say this always.
"Last season we had a good group and now my expectation is to keep it this way. To stay focused and determined to try and stay in the Premier League.
"Of course the Premier League is going to be tough and we know it, but we have a good group and a good connection between all the players, the fans also.
"The most important thing is to give everything on the pitch every weekend. We are really looking forward to play in this division, we'll give everything.
"I've never played in the Premier League and it's the same for most of the lads, but we're all excited for it."
