Alexander Isak now tells Newcastle United he will not play for them again - David Ornstein

· 12 August 2025, 10:30

**Alexander Isak has taken his defiance to the next level, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, as he's declared he will not play again for Newcastle United.**

The Swedish striker has done all he can this summer to force a move away from the club, burning all of his bridges on Tyneside - and you know how much we like our bridges on Tyneside!.

Ornstein says that Isak had told the club last summer, after Paul Mitchell refused to give him a new deal, that he made it clear it would be his last season for the Magpies.

However, club insiders deny that he said this, and that they were expecting talks to open at the end of the season.

The double standards are off the charts - but we don't care

-----------------------------------------------------------

After becoming a hero amongst the Newcastle fans, Isak has now suddenly turned into the exact type of player we don't want anywhere near the club. Which we understand is very hypocritical, given that Yoane Wissa has essentially done the same thing at Brentford to force a move to Newcastle.

It just shows, I guess, that even though we sit here condemning Isak and saying that his reputation will be tarnished forever, that we're more than happy to welcome Wissa through the door after doing the same thing to Brentford - there's no real lasting damage to throwing your toys out of the pram. You alienate one fanbase, sure, but you get welcomed with open arms into another.

When you look at it like that, do we really have any right to be as angry as we are? Yes. Yes, we do. Who cares about double standards? Alexander Isak is poison.
