Diogo Jota said that his crowning achievement was scoring what would be his final, and arguably most crucial, goal for Liverpool.

The decisive strike against Everton, which nudged the Reds closer to Premier League glory in April, was the last goal Jota netted for the club before his tragic death.

In a video recorded shortly before he died in July, the Portuguese star reflected on the significance of that moment in a season marred by injury. The beloved Liverpool figure lost his life in a car accident, along with his brother, last month while returning to the UK from Spain.

Jota's poignant final interview with the Merseyside outfit has now been aired as part of Liverpool's documentary chronicling their title-winning season, Champions 24-25: The Inside Story. The film paid tribute to the forward, who narrated the season alongside fellow players such as Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister.

In an emotional address, Jota shared what scoring against Everton meant to him in Liverpool's title pursuit, especially after a challenging year despite the team's strong performance.

He said: "It was a very tough season for me but I was always there fighting and I could help the team that day and I'm proud of what I could still do.

"It's hard to describe. That's the feeling I look for when I play football, that's why you put all your life and all your efforts into moments like that, moments where you can decide an important game.

"As a striker the best way is to score a goal, it is worth it to keep going and searching for moments like that. You just feel amazing. I could help the team that day and we just built on the momentum from there. In the end you can say that was a decisive week."

Jota clinched his first Premier League title, adding to his Carabao Cup and FA Cup victories in Liverpool's colours. It was an accomplishment the ex-Wolves ace hadn't even dared to fantasise about during his younger years.

"It is something I could not even dream as a kid, I wanted to play in the Premier League but I could never imagine to win it," he added.

In a poignant conclusion to the documentary, Jota reflects on the jubilant aftermath of their victory. The triumph clearly held deep significance.

"Pictures that will be shown forever," Jota remarked. "It is a remarkable achievement for a small guy that came from Gondomar, where I had this dream. Finally we did it. But it is a moment I will cherish forever like I said because it's a remarkable achievement."
