Manchester United have now delivered an ultimatum to Antony, warning him he risks sitting in the stands until January unless he sorts an exit in the next few days.
That’s [according to ABC Sevilla](https://www.abc.es/sevilla/), who report that Manchester United are demanding that the winger accept one of their transfer offers this week.
They explain that Manchester United don’t want Antony to hold out until the end of the transfer window to push a move to Real Betis.
They’re more than aware of the Spanish club’s strategy to pressure them into a move late in the window and so are forcing Antony to make a decision on his future.
They have offers for him that they consider financially valid and are determined to ensure that the market doesn’t think he can only move to Betis this summer. Betis want a loan move, and could include a purchase option, but that isn’t guaranteed.
The two clubs are not in dialogue at this moment in time and Antony’s attitude, rejecting other proposals, has angered Manchester United to the point they’ve now presented an ultimatum. Either he accepts one of the offers they currently have, worth €30-40m, before the start of the season this week or he will ‘remain sat in the stands until January’ and almost certainly miss the 2026 World Cup.
His current deal runs until 2027 and United are insisting that he sign a new deal if he is to leave on loan. That further complicates the matter.
Antony and Betis believe that every day that passes without a solution is in their interests, but it seems Manchester United have had enough, and an ultimatum has now been laid down so the matter can be resolved this week.
