Man United could be close to making a major sale to help recover some of the £200m plus they have spent this summer.
Before the transfer window started this year, much of the talk around Manchester United was that they needed to sell several players who had fallen out of favour with Ruben Amorim.
Alejandro Garnacho is one name who has been on United’s list of players to sell since the start of the summer, despite the fact that last season, he had a decent year, scoring 11 goals and 10 assists in 58 games for the club.
Chelsea step up talks after agreeing personal terms with Garnacho
Premier League rivals Chelsea have emerged as the main suitors for Garnacho, with the Argentine reportedly keen on a move to Stamford Bridge. There had been previous links to both Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen, but it seems as though the Blues is the likely outcome for the 20-year-old.
Garnacho agreed personal terms with the Blues last week, and reports are now saying that Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to secure the winger. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are in talks with United over a deal for Garnacho, but a potential fee has not yet been reported.
Romano said on X: “Chelsea step up talks for Alejandro Garnacho! Club to club discussions with Man United are now well underway. Garnacho only wants Chelsea, personal terms are agreed and the two clubs are in negotiation over fee. Garnacho, expected to become a Chelsea player this summer.”

It had been previously reported that United would want at least £40m for the winger, significantly less than their figure of £70m that they wanted in the January transfer window.
Amorim admits Garnacho doesn’t want to play under him
Considering that Garnacho played fairly well last year, it was never really clear as to why he fell out of favour with manager Ruben Amorim, but towards the end of the season, his minutes faded and faded.
The United boss previously hinted that it is simply a mismatch with him and Garnacho, and that the 20-year-old would be better playing under a different manager. He said: "But I have the feeling – and I think it's clear - that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership and I can understand that.
“Sometimes you adapt to one guy and you have the connection. Other times you want a new challenge.”
It looks as though Garnacho’s new challenge will be under Enzo Maresca, and his initial challenge will be to take the starting winger spot by usurping the likes of Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, Tyrique George and Estevao.
