The excitement is building around Everton as Jack Grealish is set to finally sign.

After the entire summer seems to have been pinned on Grealish leaving Man City for Everton, the inevitable is happening.

David Moyes called Grealish the Premier League’s ‘best’ as the winger is looking to refind his form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Everton owners have been working hard to sort this deal, as The Friedkin Group agreed a £50 million buy option for Grealish.

His performances will have to prove he’s worth this amount, but Chris Sutton believes Moyes is the perfect man for the job after past experience.

Everton-bound Jack Grealish told he can emulate David Moyes’ work with Jesse Lingard

As the 29-year-old embarks on a new chapter after a torrid last few seasons in Manchester, it’s been quickly forgotten how crucial the winger was to City’s treble-winning season.

Grealish’s £100 million switch has to be labelled as a flop, but there is no denying his quality is still in there.

Who better than the Toffees boss to find this resurgence in the City player, as speaking on the Football Daily podcast, Sutton believes Moyes can rediscover the winger’s form like he did with Jesse Lingard at West Ham.

“The problem Everton have is that if you’re a top player, you just don’t want to sign for Everton,” Sutton said.

“Grealish has a point to prove – if you look back at David Moyes, he improved Jesse Lingard, didn’t he? His career turned around.”

Everton can restore Grealish’s ‘drive’, like Moyes did with Lingard in East London, as this has every chance to be a recipe for success.

How David Moyes improved Jesse Lingard at West Ham is perfect for Jack Grealish at Everton

Many West Ham fans will recall Lingard’s improvement at the Hammers after being a squad option at Man United.

Well, the same situation lies with Grealish, who is also a squad option under Pep Guardiola, as he is set to have a star role on Merseyside, and Lingard’s turnaround is the perfect example.

Playing him as a number ten, the Scotsman managed to restore the former United star’s close-ball control, threat in the final third, but more importantly, made him more physical.

This aligns with Grealish, as he is likely to play in that attacking midfield role, and physicality is something the 29-year-old lacks in his game.

Moyes can improve this in the winger’s attributes, whilst also finding the spark once again in the former Aston Villa man.

Grealish wants to replicate Wayne Rooney at Everton, as the Toffees hero also prided himself on being physical on the ball.

This will be the main point of focus at Everton for Grealish, and as with Lingard, Moyes can once again greatly improve a withering talent’s prospects.
