West Ham told how much it will cost to sign Liverpool midfielder as Bundesliga side join race

**West Ham United have been told how much it will cost to sign Liverpool attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott.**

According to [The Athletic](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6546338/2025/08/12/transfer-latest-manchester-united-arsenal-real-madrid-liverpool-carlos-baleba/), the Premier League champions are holding out for a fee of around £50 million for the England youth international.

Speculation about Elliott’s future at Anfield intensifies as the weeks go by, and West Ham are paying close attention to his situation.

However, they might need to move fast to avoid getting outmuscled in the race to land his signature, especially with other European clubs also taking note.

The 22-year-old has emerged as a top target for RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga outfit see Elliott as an ideal replacement for Xavi Simons, who is subject to serious interest from Chelsea.

Like West Ham, Leipzig also missed out on European qualification, so it’s a level playing field between both clubs, although the Hammers might have the upper hand.

There’s a decent chance that Elliott could be leaning towards staying in the Premier League, and a move to West Ham would see him take up a central role in Graham Potter’s side.

Elliott is the kind of signing that gets fans off their seat and [West Ham should be doing everything in their power to bring him to the London Stadium](https://westhamblog.co.uk/posts/west-ham-to-step-up-interest-in-harvey-elliott-and-tyler-morton-this-week/).

After the arrival of Florian Wirtz in a big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen, Elliott could struggle for playing time in the coming season.

Liverpool still hold him in high regard, and he’s considered a brilliant talent, but they’ll find it difficult to turn down offers north of £50m.

There are rumours that they could even accept offers of around £40m, which could turn out to be a bargain if the Hammers can pull off a transfer.

Elliott was a prominent part of the Liverpool team under Jurgen Klopp, making 53 appearances across all competitions in the German’s final season in charge. He also scored four goals and provided 14 assists.

However, his importance has significantly reduced under Arne Slot, and he’s open to a new adventure away from Merseyside.
