Patrick Mahomes has been the focal point of the Kansas City Chiefs and since arriving in 2017, the superstar quarterback has given the city three Super Bowl Championships. His presence with the Chiefs has put the team on top of the AFC since the year they drafted him, and they have been consistent in the title contender status after winning the AFC West nine consecutive years.
Even with a football resume that would rival the best in NFL history, the Kansas City Chiefs have been the subject of criticism downplaying their achievements. This was addressed by Patrick Mahomes in a recent interview on the ‘Up & Adams Show’.

“It’s never easy,” said Patrick Mahomes. “Our division’s always been tough. We’ve just done a good job of being able to win it. But we always feels like our division is tough, and that’s where we start.”

Being in the AFC, the Chiefs are to battle in a deeper conference that features the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, who are all considered conference contenders.
“And so obviously, a lot of young, really good quarterbacks,” Patrick Mahomes said. “You had Geno Smith to the pitcher as well, another great quarterback. And then to go with the coaches that we’re going up against. I mean, some legendary Hall of Fame coaches, but we believe we have the best coach. And we believe we take care of business and handle things the right way.”

Patrick Mahomes stresses that winning doesn’t come easy
Being one of the best football teams in the NFL, the winning culture that has spanned for almost a decade already has made a stigma that they are doing it with ease. This perception is being debunked by Patrick Mahomes, that they still have to do their homework about their opponents and still figure out a way to keep stacking victories to remain at the top of the AFC.
“We can find a way to win the division. And I believe if we win our division, we’ll be in line to go out there and get that home playoff game and be able to play playoffs and Super Bowls.”
