Everton will need €20m to sign UD Almería midfielder Dion Lopy this summer, with a move yet to materialise.
That’s [according to IDEAL](https://www.ideal.es/udalmeria/almeria-activa-modo-competicion-pensando-alba-20250811191256-nt.html), who report that the midfielder continues to train and not cause a fuss at the Spanish club despite the reports about Everton being interested.
Various claims in Spain over the last few weeks have named Everton as being interested in Lopy, with Almería very much expecting him to depart despite a desire for him to stay.
Indeed, a report from Spain last week had the deal as practically done and even claimed that Almería’s tough stance, in that they didn’t want him to leave, was wobbling.
There’s been no movement since then, though, and IDEAL report he is continuing to impress for the Spanish side and not be distracted by transfer talk.
They explain that Lopy was recently impressive in a pre-season friendly against Al-Nassr, showing good physical condition and his ‘trademark spark’ for winning balls in midfield.
He was one of the best players in the game against the Saudi Arabian side and set the pace in midfield. His future, according to IDEAL, remains unknown if he continues to shine as he has been. In other words, he’s doing nothing but adding to his already growing reputation.
The transfer window runs until September 1st so there’s plenty of time for clubs to get a deal done and Almería have now set a €20m asking price. Whether that’s a figure Everton would be willing to pay, remains to be seen. A report last week had them preparing a €25m offer.
The Toffees have been busy wrapping up deals for Kiernan Dewsbury Hall and Jack Grealish over the last week, so with those now done, perhaps attention can turn back to Lopy, who continues to shine for Almería in the meantime.
